After [[Mantis]] and another [[messenger]] killed Thomas Crawford, Sr. and whatever result they expected did not materialize, they searched for Crawford Jr. [[James Cole|Cole]] and [[Cassandra Railly|Railly]] found him first, and he called both of them by name despite never having met them. Mantis forced Railly to turn Crawford over to her and killed him with a piece of his breast bone she had brought with her from [[2044]], causing a temporal paradox.
