Syfy announced that it had renewed the series for a fourth and final season on March 16, 2017, alongside of the premiere date announcement for Season 3.[3]
The first scripts for Season 4 were written in March 2017.[4] Filming began in April 2017. The final draft of the script for the series finale, entitled "The Beginning", was completed on June 20, 2017.[5]
