The year is 2043 and the world has been devastated by a horrific plague. James Cole is recruited by Katarina Jones to partake in Project Splinter, a highly experimental time travel program. Jones intends for Cole to travel back in time and prevent the plague from happening. Throughout Cole's journeys through time, he encounters a woman named Cassandra Railly. The two begin a partnership to stop the plague before its outbreak.
