History[]
Early Life[]
Adam originally worked for the CIA. He leaked top-secret government information to the public, causing many to brand him a digital terrorist. Since then, Adam was on the run.[1]
Season 1[]
Wexler was hiding in a remote compound located in Chechnya. The CIA attempted to assassinate him via Operation Troy. His men captured James Cole, who had intercepted a case he was expecting. Despite Cole's warnings, Wexler ordered them to open the case, releasing the M5-10 virus contained inside. As Wexler fell ill, he talked with Cole and toyed with the idea of spreading the plague to cleanse the corruption from the world, and asked Cole what about the world was worth saving if they would risk extinction just to kill him. Wexler's men, dying from M5-10, decided to hand Wexler over to the Russian army in exchange for medical care. Wexler objected, causing a firefight to break out, and Wexler was mortally wounded. He told Cole that he had learned about the Army of the 12 Monkeys during his time at the CIA and said they had been involved in a yakuza war in 1987, at the White Dragon, and then died.[2]
